Last minute change of plans that resulted in me hiking Kennesaw Mountain. The hike was more strenuous than I thought but then again, as I have previously mentioned, I am not much of a hiker.

The view from the top makes the hike worth it.

Sometimes I wonder if hikes that don't have a overlook or a nice view are worth it. Like for me, I prefer having something to look forward to. Not only does it give me motivation but otherwise I feel like I'm doing all this for nothing! Now I know there are other reasons to hike, like it's good for your health and all but no! I want it to be worth it in other ways.

Like look at this deer that I saw on the hike which made this hike even more worth it!

On my way up, I stopped at one point to catch my breath and looked back to see a couple of deer run across the trail and I got so upset that they didn't run across from in front of me. It was a mama deer and a baby deer. But then later, I looked up and there this one was. So close and not at all bothered by the people walking by.

Kennesaw Mountain is a National Battlefield Park so there is a lot of history there as well. It is a Civil War battleground and there are some signs along the trail that remind you of that but in general when hiking to the top, all most people probably think about is making it to the top!

About Me

I'm someone who didn't like the outdoors because you know bugs and such. Somehow though...I fell in love with waterfalls and now the rest doesn't matter.
